Important Information
- Graduate and professional students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours in a semester to be categorized as a half-time student during that semester. For federal financial aid (federal student loans), this definition of half-time status is important in two ways:
- 1. Students must be registered at least half-time to be eligible for federal student loans;
- 2. Students must be registered at least half-time to qualify for an in-school deferment on their prior federal student loans.
- Graduate students must also be enrolled in a degree-seeking program to be eligible for federal financial aid. Graduate Certificate students are not eligible for federal financial aid.
